help!

hi i have just bought my tank and havent set it up yet for the fact that i have to wait a few weeks because im getting a cabinet for it but in this time i need to save up for the essentials like(and these are quesions aswell);

1.What should i have for a base e.g sand or gravel really what is best for growing plants?

2.How many fish would be suitable to buy at first? and what are the cheapest and hardiest and easy to keep?

3.how many plants i should get for the first few weeks(preferabley a fast growing plant)

and 4. a brief estimate on the cost of all this( in british pounds ) if possible

I am also fairly new to this the only suggestion I can make is to get some tiger barbs, since my tank is only 6 months old the 4 green tiger barbs have been in for 5 months and have been thru hell, but boy are they hardy and are still real healthy

This isn't a cop out answer, but the question you ask have been asked countless hundred of times. My answer to you is, 1. Browse the site for your answers.
2. Look particurarly at the pinned topics in this section. 3. The final choice MUST be yours. It's your tank, not ours and so you must chose.
