Hi i rang one of my lfs today to see if they had any L134s. They sed they did and i sent my girlfriends mum and dad to pick them up for me as my girlfriend and i was quite busy sorting out one of our tanks.

Quick question.... Are these L134's??? as they dont look like my other ones. They look more white than yellow and are not as chunky. These look more flat.

I'm no good at ids (they look like them to me - but so do a few other species lol) but the colour/shape difference I wouldn't worry about, their lack of colour is probably due to stress and their weight from being in an LFS so not the best of care. Give 'em a week and I'm sure they'll be brighter and fatter ;)

As for ids - I'd pop over to Planetcatfish.com or Plecofanatics.com and ask on their forums - although I'm sure there's folks here who can help too. :good:

Turns out they are not L134s they are L015's. I rang the LFS that i got them from and they wont take them back. What do i do????

Tell the lfs there not the fish you ordered, so they should take them back.

I wouldn't worry too much unless you haven't got room or you really don't want them.
I have an L015 and find him to be very peaceful, if not a little shy. They don't get too big either, roughly about 4" so won't take up too much room either.
On the other hand, if the lfs sold you them wrong then I'd have thought they would be obliged to take them back. If they are refusing then it might be an idea to ask to speak to someone higher up and get the situation sorted.
Good luck with whatever you decide!

I like them stang1 too, I would keep them.

They are a beautiful Pleco but ours is incredibly shy. All our other Plecos are out and abot in the daytime but not our Candy Striped. Saying that, he is still quite small so it's easier for him to disappear in our tank. The only time we see him properly is when we move the bogwood to clean the tank!

I wouldn't want to stress the poor little things taking them back.
But if the owner not happy the lfs should do the decent thing and take them back.

I agree Wilder, it will stress them but the lfs should take them back.
I was sold a King Tiger Pleco instead of a Queen Arabesque a while ago but I decided to keep him as he was lovely. Mentioned it to the lfs and they were very apologetic, said they would take him back. No chance of that though, I kept him!!!

They are nice but the 3 foot tank there in is for breeding L134's and dont really want them in the tank. We have 2 other tanks that are also breeding certain fish. They cant really go in them eather. If i could i would get another tank for odd balls but have no room for another tank really.

That's such a shame but I can understand why you can't keep them.
I'd definitely get back in touch with the shop and if you have no joy then ask to speak to someone higher up. They are the ones that made the mistake therefore they should replace them.
