I introduced a few new fish today... two discus, 3 puffer fish, 3 clowns, and 2 gouramis.

About 30 minutes after I introduced the fish, my favorite large gold severum was on his side on the bottom! He's still there! Everybody else is fine! What happened!?! What can I do!?!

Need tank size in gallons or litres.
Full stock list of tank.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
Is the fish bloated, any change in colour.

Do you feed the fish any veg, I would try some shelled peas for now till you can answer some of the question asked.

Thats a weird stock of fish you introduced into one tank, 3 puffers with discus and gouramis as they are renown for nipping others in a community set up. I dont know what has happened here but it would certainly sound like a knock on effect of the new additions (more than likely stress of some kind), All the fish you mention have different requirements as far as PH goes etc.

I keep my PH around 6.6 . Clowns and puffers in the past have been OK with it.

90 gallons

1 oscar
1 pleco
1 gold severum
1 chinese hi fin banded shark
plus the fish i added above

ph is 6.6
no ammonia
0 nitrite

no change in color, he does not appear bloated. I noticed the oscar trying to eat rocks, although he otherwise appears to be acting normal (as does everyone else).

hmmmm that could very well be it. About a month ago I started feeding him live black worms which I started buying to feed to my fire eels (in another tank). He also ate some turkey a few days ago.

I don't see a poop trail on him, but there are definitely no signs of disease. He's just lying there on the bottom...

My oscar is great! he's big, beautiful and peaceful! he doesn't bother anyone since he grew up in a community tank. The severum actually bosses him around a little bit

I've fed my fish turkey lol.
Cook some frozen peas for a few minutes, let cool down, pop out of shell, mush between fingers and add to the tank.

Haha I figured my fish should be able to celebrate thanksgiving with a little turkey too =)

Thanks for all the advice! I'll try the peas and let you know what happens.

Good luck.

I can't believe it, but he's still pullin' through on his side on the bottom of the tank....

and now there is a HUGE piece of unbelievably thick curly fry poop which is coming out of his fish butt!! I hope that is the problem!!! I feel a lot better now.

Pray for him!

Sounds like he was constipated, should feel better now.
Glad you stopped panicking.
