Help!

White little dots are appearing on my two German rams! What is it!!!! It started on their fins and then they disappeared and then more appeared and now they have it on their bodies! What do they have!

Sounds like ich. Its really easy to cure, its mostly caused from stress or water quality. I would try just uping the temperature 78-80 and adding aquarium salt. or you can find plently of medications at your LFS, i just don't like using meds unless I have to.

It definatley sounds like ich. If you are trying to kill off the ich by just raising the temperature you will have to higher than 78-80. I usually turn the temperature up to 82-84 (make sure you raise it slowly, 2* F per day max). Some people go as high as 86 when treating without meds.

What type of fish do you have? DO NOT add salt if you have any scaleless fish such as loaches or catfish. Others have trouble tolerating salt, so you need to add it slowly, eventually getting to 1 tablespoon for every 5 US gallons.

Also, you need to check your water stats (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH). Fish often get sick when they are sick. Have you recently added new fish?

I thought it was ich. Ok now I don't need to worry as much. I have my temp around 78-80 already, But I guess I can concider raiseing the temp and little higher. I added salt already, But because of this do I have to add more?

And in my tank I have
2 german rams (my last 2 fishes)
4 guppies
1 neon tetra (might have to get rid off or get more)
3 gold tetras (don't know their real name)
2 rasboras
1 rosy Barb
40 gallon tank

Thanks for your help guys/gals. It seems like thier spot are all gone. Good thing they only had a few on them.
