Help!

My female bettas are fighting, they never use to do that till today. I put them in a 10 gal and they just started fighting.

If you've switched their tank around then yes they will have to re-establish a pecking order. They should settle back down in a couple of days.

My females were always fighting so I've now disbanded the all girls tank and they are in divided sections now so they can see but not nip

It wasen't exactly just nipping they where tearing eachothers fins off.

Exactly how many females are in this tank? 4-5 is suggested, as fewer numbers will lead to fighting.

There only 2 girls.

Well that explains it. You need AT LEAST 4 girls in a 10 gallon to spread the aggression around. You need to separate those two immediately until you can get them more tankmates, or they can easily kill one-another.

I took one of them out a few days ago.

I have one more question though, is it true there is a dominate female in the tank?

Yes, a group of females will develop a pecking order with a dominant female.
