I have two severds I believe one male and a female because of the way they are acting.i didn't think the yellow was old enough to mate but they have a bed made and are being very aggressive. Over it .now if they were to have fry and live do they eat them or protect them or do I need to take the babies out. I have a oscar and Jack in with them.but they will not let them on the side of the tank which they have taken over. No fights nothing so I'm just wondering any input

Yep sounds like you have a breeding pair they will get more territorial as they get closer to laying eggs. They will look after the fry until they are young fish but the pair may fail on the first few breeding attempts.

What size tank is this? It’s going to need to be big to accommodate a breeding pair of Severums and your Oscar and JD.

A 60 is small for those fish without the breeding really id like it to be at least twice that size as they are big fish with all of them able to attain a foot.

If you are not able to accommodate a breeding pair you may need to think of separating them or just having one to avoid the breeding as now they have paired it could happen quite regularly and even if you remove the eggs you will still get the behaviour which is not good long term.

That green is gorgeous!! Saw your Oscar in your other thread you have really stunning fish. I know some of the decisions with big cichlids can be daunting but it really is worth it
