Hello all,

I’m new to the site and to marine fish. I have kept tropical fish for a long time now and am thinking of moving to marine. I have a chance to buy the following equipment second hand and I was just wondering if it would be all right to start off. I’m new to the game, so it is going to take me a bit of time to get up to speed on marine information.

-33 gallon tank
-Coralife 36 inch/96 watt Aqualight
-Visi-Therm heater – not sure of size but I will find that out.
-Fluvial 304 filter
-Red Sea Prizm protein skimmer
-MC 320 MicroJet submersible pump

Any information passed on would be great.
Cheers.

Well, the tank, lighting, and heater are top-notch equipment, but the filter, powerhead and skimmer leave a little something to be desired. If the price is right though, you might want to buy it...

Thanks for the response.

I was going to upgrade the powerhead forsure. I will stick with filter and skimmer for now. Will there be enought light in the tank for coarl, or would I have to upgrade for that?

With just a single tank-length PC you can keep softies and MAYBE a hardy LPS like a Euphyllia genus coral if its stacked high in your rocks.
