Hello,
I have been housing one pepsi cola for about three months. He is doing fine, he lives with an appistogramma painted face and some tetra in a 1o gallon (30-30-60 cm) tank. He has no catfish friends and a ***** of a phantom tetra occasionally bites his whisker but he is active and swims all around. I have given him a basement of tunnels which he utilises. If he gets cold he protests by scraping his nose on a rock and i will put the heat up. I am just wondering if I can make his stay any better by adding another but the tank is already too small for the species im just wondering if someone has a seasoned opinion on the matter. thanks a bunch, oh he has begun eating bloodworms and they have killed previous kribensis from thier inability to digest them, is this problem the same in a synadontis? what food do you recommend?, i usually feed him crab hoops but hes getting bored.

Hey

I have 3 Synodontis Petricolas and 3 Cuckoo catfish which have a different name (Check out the link in my sig, "my fish" just uploaded a pic of the new cuckoo catfish i got on sat) I Added about 3 to the tank about a week ago and they were very lively out and about all of the time. Since adding 3 more they can be seen alot more and seem to like it in groups. I have read on the internet they like living in groups.

What size is your tank? and What are they being kept with?

Feeding wise i feed mine Sera catfish chips and then they get whatever the cichlids dont eat such as spirilina flake and such like. I am looking for treats for them but i was advised against Blood worm as it may bloat the cichlids so giving that a wide birth lol.

yeah Ive heard that bloodworms are a no go for most african cichlids, south americans are ok though. My tank is 30-30-60 cm 10 gallons I think. might try the sera chips but I have this technique of putting the hoop on a stick and it travels down passed all the greedy tetras and into the catfish basement. its a good trick but not if he cant be bothered eating it. I also heard they like to school but maybe my tank is too small. cheers

oh yeah there is 3 black phantom tetra 3 white phantom tetra 1 black widow tetra 3 tiny tetra and one rainbow skinny thing called spock along with the appistogramma painted face and the synadontis. there were 12 shrimp but then i went on holiday and somebody got hungry.

ah id be inclined to maybe stop with what you have :-( they can grow up 2 10cm and i think from what iv read the min tank size is 100L :-( Its a hard job getting the food to them! i usually switch the lights off wait until the cichlids disperse then drop 2 in but they are out like a flash greeting it b4 it reaches the Synos. But then after a nibble the cichlids seem to leave it so hopefully the cats get it then
