Help With Lighting

Hi i have got a tank i bought of ebay its 30"x 12"x 15" and the lighing hood is looking a bit tatty and the lights inside look like a bit of a bodge so i was wondering if anybody had any ideas of what i could for lighting my tank? Im new to this so any advice would be great .

You can buy light controllers such as this.

There are a couple of different models if you look around the site, and you will find all the information you need on there. With one of those, you could put them into a diy hood, but I have never made one. There are a few journals in the diy section of the forum.

is there anywhere that sells the hoods?

I'm sure if u can find a brand name on ur light or tank u might be able to find a replacement hood or an aftermarket hood that fits ur tank dimensions
