i dont see a drop checker?

Did you have to use any adapters? Can you show me how to do this?

no adapters, straight outa the box

i wouldnt use electrical tape either, it stretches in the heat.

Can I ask where you bought your solenoid valve from? I am going to return mine, it is only for use with tubing as it has no adapter to screw in to a needle valve.

Thanks,

Was a German eBay store, cant recall now, its on the forum somewhere in a post i made.

It's almost certainly Lunapet on ebay. Difficult to find because they sell under the name aquarianerversand. Found it . It comes with the adapter you need to fit it directly to the reg.

Thanks, much appreciated!

I have now bought that one and will return this one.

Mine came with a very tiny clear plastic compression washer, without it, it would have been impossible to tighten up correctly, i do admit, it was a bit of a pig to get it perfectly joined but just about managed it.

Well thank you all for your help so far!

I have now received a better solenoid valve, with the correct attachments to go straight on to the regulator without the need for tubing.

The FE setup has been working great so far, it has been running since Saturday morning and the pressure is still 55bar on the cylinder. The drop checker shows a light green colour throughout the day - and it does not seem to have any affect on the fish either.

Good stuff. Make sure to pull the drop checker out and compare it to a white background. I made this mistake at first when it was a dark green, upped the Co2 a touch and it looked lime green until I pulled it out and it was yellow. Guessing the green of the happy plants behind messed with my colour vision.

Good point - the colour does slightly change hue when looking at it from a different angle in the tank.

I've been a complete idiot..

While fitting the solenoid to the needle valve tonight I tightened it a tad too much & have broken the thread!

I didn't think this could happen to weak me, but I guess while trying to force the solenoid past the escape valve jutting out the side of the top of the FE, the slight mis-direction while tightening has ruined the thread.

I have ordered another reg & needle valve and will probably have to wait until Monday for this to be delivered. Oh what a pain in the bum. Nevermind, at least I'll know to be much more careful next time!

sorry to hear you are having a few troubles and hope you get back on tack with the new stuff you have ordered.
