I've got a cycled 10 gallon ready to go. Only inhabitants are a gourami and a dwarf aquatic frog.

How should I stock it?!?!?!?

Bonus points for:
-COLOR/BEAUTY!
-Interesting, possibly somewhat rare if it's on the cheaper side

Looking for complete stocking suggestions, #'s of each kind etc.

Well, more "unique" than "rare" i guess is what i meant....

anyone have any suggestions?

By stocking suggestions, I mean specific fish. But yah, I had a community tank in mind but I'm open.

If you got rid of your gouramis and put em in another tank...oh yeah, and the frog...you could have dwarf puffers, or one collemesus, or one red eye, all are unique fish, but are not often on the cheapy side. But as you would only be getting one collemesus or red eye, if thats what you decided...well...I'm sure you could stretch...

Puffers are full of personality!!!! If you get them, you'll be hooked!

I currently have a 20 gallon stocked with 4 dwarf puffers and some otos.

This is for my 10 gallon...and I'd prefer not to get rid of the gourami and the frog. How would a pair of boesemani rainbows do? What about some tetras or something?

Come on guys...what do YOU have your 10 gallon stocked with?!?!?

Maybe two False leaf fish, they aren't colorful but are unique, as they only take live food, and if you can find them, 4 peacock gudgeons would be awesome :D

I had black neons in mine, which I think are quite underrated. They are truly quite magnificent in a school, and also very peaceful and much harder than regular neons. Bigger too. I had 4 black neons and 6 neons in my old 10 gallon. (This was several years ago). I then made the mistake of adding a small malawi cichlid from another tank that was being molested by another fish, to give him a chance to heal up (his fins were torn). He did heal, unfortunately the neons did not fare so well... 2 of them disappeared and I got rid of the remaining 4 (I wasn't as attached to them as my cichlid). I thought he couldn't get the black neons but big surprise: two weeks later all I had in the tank was one very plump and happy blue malawi cichlid (he has almost doubled in size). Ah well. We all need to learn somehow. Sorry for rambling on, but back to the point I suggest black neons, supposing they don't get eaten. :p

well I must say, I'm already quite in love with my corydoras catfish I added to my ten gallon the other day. they're peaceful, cute, and friendly. lyretai mollies are quite attractive as well. my fish aren't exactly exotic, but in my mind their all gorgeous!

Boesemani rainbows...how would one or two work in my 10?

Bolivian rams vs. German Blue Rams...how hard are the German Blue Rams to keep, are the Bolivian rams really that much easier?

THANKS!

I think bolivian rams are bigger and would not do well in a tank that small. I would go with the german blues, as far as I know one is not more difficult than the other.
