Any disagreement or 'differing opinion' can be concluded with one simple response, not multiple responses that are in such a separative and destructive manner.)

I hardly see the destructive manner. I make corrections where I see fit. :) Nothing against you at all, but when there is a chain of "interesting" reponses, all of which making a separate and different correctable statement it is sometimes easier to use "chain massacre" to ensure that the statement I am correcting is noted as well. I do not believe I was rude in any way so I hardly see how my response is construed as destructive. But to each their own :)

OK, just picking up what you're looking at here.

I'm glad you shelved the krib in this stocking list, it was asking for trouble having it in there, it's bigger and more aggressive than the rest of your stocking.

As has been said, a lot of what you're looking at are bottom dwellers. The tank size is good, the territory is an issue. Rams are some of the most docile cichlids in general but are still cichlids and have individual personalities, apistos are generally more aggressive, but aren't generally nasty. I've had issues with apistos and cories, when the apistos decided that their turf was being invaded and you don't have a huge footprint for them to get away in that tank. Shrimp are debatable, cherries are at risk from cichlids like that and I'd probably not expect much reproduction unless the tank is heavily planted. Amano's are better off, but will still get nipped occasionally.

Will you get away with a ram and apisto's? Maybe, would depend on the fish to be honest.

As for the comments in this thread about responses, these are fairly standard ways of responding to threads. Please try to remember that tone doesn't come across in posts and keep things calm, otherwise the OP gets less help when we have to deal with issues in the thread. You're all trying to help and bring in your own experiences.

And, if I did do so, I, too, did not mean to give a negative impression of Rams. My Rams are completely un-aggressive toward all small community fish. My only concern here was whether they could handle being with a krib in that size tank. I had four Rams in a 26 gallon while they were young, but upon getting established in the tank, they were very aggressive toward each other much of the time. So I re-homed two of them, and the remaining two were okay in that size tank together.

The chain of corrections was simply based on the fact that Bolivian Rams (in particular) aren't aggressive towards other peaceful fish. However, IMO, it is still a cichlid and will be territorial if not given enough space and is still susceptible to physical aggression with other semi aggressive fish which suggests that you shouldn't mix them with fish such as a Krib or other cichlids. They should be with fish of a very peaceful nature (preferably not bottom dwellers).

So overall I agree and am supporting what Rob and Gvilleguy are saying. Madchen, I think it was the combination of going through all of my posts on this thread and on another, that striked me as being rather intrusive. Everyone has a right to an opinion and I understand that we all have the intention to be constructive. Being new to this fish forum, I was not aware that individuals took the time to individually go through multiple posts and provide separate responses. So I was a little dumbfounded with the tenacity.

Getting back on track
Bolivian Rams will do well in a tank with fish of a peaceful nature, but avoid mixing them with any other cichlid's

I had 2 Bolivian Rams in a 20 gallon & they got along great for about a week. Then the larger one started harassing the smaller one relentlessly. Apparently the footprint of a 20 high isn't enough for 2 males so I separated them and eventually picked out a single female for one of them. Now the male only chases the female a little bit here & there........

For the record none of the 3 Rams has ever been aggressive towards any of the other fish in either tank, in fact the more dominant male was kinda being bullied by a Sunset Thicklipped Gourami that was smaller than him!

I comment to a lot of people on different threads. So I do apologize if I have offended you in any way, shape of form.
