Help! Sorority Destruction!

i added a pea and the whole sorority whent nuts!! they all started flareing and beating each other up!!

i took some vids when it calmed down! i had no clue what to do i was stunned!! and my poor Honeysuckle was trying to get a bite of pea but was bitten!! she looks horrible!! she isnt swimming good! what do i do? ??

Hey there, from the videos they look fine to me... is Honeysuckle the yellow double tail? She looks fine from the video.

Try giving them more than one pea next time so they can all have a shot. If not all is eaten then just scoop up the leftover and throw it away. If they are pretty torn up add some aquarium salt or some medicine to prevent infections. I'm sure everything will be ok!

Haha.... I know it's bad but I can't help but giggle, it's so silly. All over a pea. I really hope they're alright. They seem okay in the videos... very cute too.

Any change for Honeysuckle? I hope she's doing ok. When I have a female that is a little beat up, I put a mesh breeding trap in the tank so she's not being bothered but can still see all her friends. That might help your fish out so she has time to recover without being moved too much. Good luck!

she still stays in the same place.... Only moved to get some shrimp that was sinking.. I will try the breeding trap

Don't just drop the whole piece of pea in. Break it into little bits and feed like normal food. That way everyone gets some and there's less chance of squabbling

but do you think Honeyduckle will be okay? she is swimming around more, she also jumped out of the breeder but she is realy skinny.

She should be fine she's most likely just a bit nervous after that, and if she's the slimmest of the group she is more than likely the weakest/most picked on. There's always one in a group. Try and distract the others with food and see if you can feed her in another corner of the tank perhaps. Keep the water clean and all that.

I drop in like 10 squished peas. if there is any left I syphon it back out when they are done eating.

my boy Viva eats 2 whole peas! he loves them.. he has no competition exept the snails if he dosent eat them all the MTS will.

when Viva does eat them he looks pregnant! soo cute!
