my siamese fighter is doing weird things :/

after leaveing my tank for a while i got a water sample and had it tested... everything came back a ok

i added zebra dannios (my fave) 2 kissin guarmies (spellin?) and one siamese fighter....

everythings goin ok apart from my siamese fighter keeps darting up to the top of the tank then sinks back down curls into a c (head down in gravel) and stays there untill my guarmies come to it.... is this normaly for the first 2 days of tank changing? or is there somthin wrong with it?

its a lovley colour, starts off realy light with a few speks of dark... then goes to a pink all the way through a short spectrum where it ends in a deep purple, my aunt recons that its been taken back after havin its fins nipped because they a realy short.... im frankly kinda lost... any help? :/

I'm a newbie here, but will give my 2 cents anyway....
From what I've been reading on these boards, I'd take my beta out of there as soon as possible and put him into his own little tank. I doubt Gouramis and bettas get along.

Perhaps a more experience "aquarian" can clear things up better than I could.

Good luck !

Lobo pretty much hit it right on the nose. If his fins are nipped that means he's being picked on and he must be very stressed. Get a huge jar( or small tank) and fil it with tank water and move him there

;) For the time being...yes get a jar and use the water from the aqaurium...however i suggest investing in a 10g then u can add a few cories and a 2 females if your up for the challenge and have a go at breeding ;)

umm sorry guys i didnt say it right.... it was handed back into the lfs after havin its fins nipped in the other owners tank, iv now taken it on.... my guarmies aint goin near it after being chased around the tank by it today

its now lookin ok, stayin by itself... scarin off my zebra danios.... -_-

but yup everythings goin fine now, iv just added me brick and they all goin through the bubbles apart from the guarmies who look rather disinterested...

Woaaaaaaaa Now I've heard it all!!! :hyper:  :X

I think we really need a place on this forum where people can share this kind of information. Word of mouth is still the best way to find a good lfs and avoid rip-offs like that one. I think it's disgusting to take advantage of newbies like that! :grr:

I'm really glad you folks are finding each other so you can share this info. :D

i'm not sure how close stoke on trent is to bulcote (im rubbish at distances and maps and stuff like that  ) but there's a decent place there called tall trees (heres a link to a website with its address - *the link*) i use it all the time, most of my fish are from there (it stocks female dwarf gouramis - apparenty thats not common :hyper: ), and the people there like to help (they advise you if a fish is no good for your tank, and you can always return fish if you change your mind about them, no time limit!!) :kana:
