i have asked on other forums without much other help. im hoping someone here can help me.
dont know what it is, i noticed it yesterday night but everybody was acting as usual so i didnt htink much of it.
now thier all hiding and wont come up and see me.
one has these white patches on his side...almost looks like a concentrated area of ich except the spots are finer...almost cottony.
also he has a little coat of slime coming off him.
thier all very stressed out and im getting very worried...any ideas?

params
ammonia: 0
nitrate: 0
nitrite: 0
pH: 6.7

i do 40% wc's almost every other day but at least twice a week if nothing else. last couple days ive been doing 1-2 40% WC's.
im treating the tank with melafix and removed the GBRs whose breeding and aggression might have stressed them out enough to get so sick.

this is the 75g
planted, has a clown pleco, 4 otos, and one black kuhlii loach who accidently got in there.

Is the patch on the side fluffy.
Are they all huddling together.
Any signs of laboured breathing, or darkening in colour.

i just shot that video a few moments ago. they came out a big to eat but that is it. still very stressed, and the white patches around his head are still there
im getting pimafix ASAP

thanks for the fast response.

An established tank should have Nitrate levels > 0. How long have you had the tank running?

How long have you had the discus?

What's the tank temp?

Do you add dechlorinator during the water changes? If so, what kind?

How big are the discus?

What do you feed them?

I only see 2 hiding behind the filter intake and both have darkened up. They could be spawning, but I doubt it, becuase neither fish are chasing any of the other discus away from the area.

I hear allot of pounding/tapping on the video, is there some kind of work being done in the area? Are you tapping on the glass? Discus are nervous fish and noises can usually scare them.

The darkening in color usually means excessive slime coat, produced on by stress on maybe spawning behavior. Things can stick onto their slime coat, so if you could take a closer pic of the white, fluffy area.

i had the exact same problem with my discus. my lfs keeps lots of discus and the guy there noes everything about discus. i told him and he gave me this. i put the discus in to a 10 gallon (smaller is better because works quiker) on his own for 2 days as any longer will stress him more. what i bought from the shop was Protozin. its in a white box and has two clown loaches on the front its for whitespot fungus diseases velvet disease and costiasis. this will do the job get this as soon as pobbisble you can treat it in the tank or in a hospital tank. just hurry as they can die from this.

How long have you had the tank running? 9 months

How long have you had the discus? 6 months

What's the tank temp? 83F

Do you add dechlorinator during the water changes? If so, what kind? yes, novaqua

How big are the discus? 3.5-4"

What do you feed them? bloodworms, brine shrimp, veggies just frozen foods. they wont eat dry foods

and at first i thought they were spawning but then again i think thier both males.

the tapping is probably from either the TV or house, the tank is in the basement and nobody ever goes down here except me

being treated with pimafix and should i dip with macaryn or use something stronger to dip them?
