I will not say what I think as I do not want to biase opinions.
Any help is appreciated

Those are some nice rams, are they of the long fin variety or just very nice?.

Dwarf cichlids aren't my thing so I couldn't be sure on sexing.

One method people say is by the blue spangles in the black spot (has spangles = female, no spangles = male) but I'm not sure how reliable this is, as I have seen some males with blue in the black spot.
At a guess I would say all photo's are of males, but its a very long time since I've kept rams or any dwarf cichlids for that matter.

Funny you should say that rocknurworld that is what I thought aswell, previously when I have had rams I bought them when I could sex them, however when I saw this batch of long finned at maidenhead aquatics in blackpool a couple of months ago I could not resist them!!
If I need to I can swap male for female, but if there are 3 males, the poor female will get completely harrased once she is sexually mature.

1 + 4 I go female, even though they dont appear to have the 'pink' belly yet, but they do have the blue specks in the black spot, which as Shroob said is a good indication, 2 + 3 are definately male.

I think they are still a bit young for the pink belly, I keep trying to look via the dorsal rays, I have to say though I keep changing my mind about number 2 and after watching tank trying to photo one of my plecs I think number 1 may be male.
Previously I have gone by dots and pink myself, I just don't want 3 males harrassing 1 female if you know what I mean.

Today I am inclined to agree with you, see I told you I keep changing my mind.

Anybody else????

Due to agreement on 3 and 4 I did not get more pictures of them.
Here are 1 and 2 again

I am now inclined to think that 1 is male and 2 is female!!

What do you think

Once again fantastic specimens, really are good looking fish. What size tank/tankmates you got them with?

Also if I could be so cheeky, how much?

Thanks, when I saw them, I just could not resist them, there were about 30 in the tank when I bought my 4, and they were took out of quarantine whilst I was deciding what fish to buy. They were £5.95 each or two for £9.00 I think. When I went back for more fish a month later there were only about 4 or 5 left!!! Apparently someone bought 13 at once!! Came from Maidenhead aquatics in Blackpool, and I have to travel 40 mins to get there, they coloured back up practically overnight!

The tank is 55 UK Gallon, I have 4 Rams, 6 Angel fish (not all will stay once paired), 12 blue tetra, 5 corydoras melanistius (I think thats right) 1 male starlight bristlenose, 1 unsexed (but I think female) common bristlenose and a female Queen Arabesque plec. I know I am probably a bit bottom heavy but I will keep an eye on this.

The QA I have had 2 and 1/2 yrs, in my old 20 uk gallon tall and I had the male bristle nose I think about 12 - 18 months ago. 1 angel fish also swapped over but I had only had that for 6 months ish (did buy 2 but 1 died after 3 days and I swapped lfs after that). Until about november last yr I thought the male bn was female then he suddenly started growing bristles on his head and they look like they are forking/ branching. There is a rogue neon tetra from before I bought the angel fish as well, he /she will stay as it is a few yrs old now and has survived the angels although that may not last, it seems to shoal well with the blue tetras so I am not too worried. I did have a large shoal in the 20g along with rams at one point but a very long powercut wiped out most of the neons and the rams out.

Back to sexing I think number 2 is female and I think she is starting to pair off with ram number 3, watched some typical mating behaviour earlier, flaring then rubbing against each other. I saw that with my last rams that I bought as adults (they were definately male and female).
