It has an internal problem and is dying, euthanise it.

when fish go pale like that and gasp, they are in pain and suffering.

What can cause the internal problems? And how to treat another one that is not gasping but pale?

Internal problems are usually caused by bacterial infections, which can come from bad food, poor water quality or Tuberculosis (TB).

There's not normally any cures for internal bacterial infections because by the time you realise the fish is sick, the internal organs are already damaged beyond repair. Sometimes medicated food can help but you can't always buy it in a lot of countries and it doesn't always work.

If the other fish is pale, it probably has the same issue. You can try doing a big water change and adding some salt (2 heaped tablespoons per 20 litres of water), but it might not help.

How long have you had the 2 fish for?
Did you feed them anything different a day or two before this started?

goldfish food wont cause that unless it was off and had bad bacteria or fungus on it.

they might have been carrying something when you got them and it developed since them.

Can you recommend any med for them? It seems like this one was infected too, she try to sit on the substrate and the decoration or because she bloated?

Female barbs are pretty chunky normally. My girls when I had them were hefty girls, she doesn’t look bloated in the photo. Try the salt as Colin has advised hun and see how you go
