We have a 135 gallon freshwater aquarium that consists of seven cichlids, two plecos, black and gray speckled catfish. We just did a full tank change when we were getting rid of our koi because they got too big and we had to relocate them.
We use all the same chemicals that we normally use the only thing we changed was we brought up our pH level from 7.2 to 8.0. We have the same filtration system running and we only added a new bubbler. All of a sudden there's this nasty-looking long stringy what looks like fish poo. Some pieces are 8 to 10 in Long. Is this fish poop is it algae? It is getting to the point to where it has to do a 50% tank change every day it is also started to cause our tank to have a greenish color to it on a daily basis.
