cuc is also an abbreviation cucumber.great for keeping sand clean however very susceptible to changes in water parameters if they die will release toxins into water that can be fatal to fish.

Not quite.

An essential part of a reef set up maybe, but certainly not all marine systems. Most of my inhabitants would make short work of any clean up crew in their tank.
