Hi everyone

Found some eggs fixed to the glass tonight - I must be doing something right

The fish started eating some - but I managed to "lift" a few using a lettuce leaf and put them into a breeding tank within the main tank!! Possibly about 12 in all

A couple of question please

1 Anyone any ideas on "collecting" eggs in the future?

2 Presume they are Pearl Danio's as these are the only fish in the tank that are likely to breed - how long would they take to hatch and what do I feed them on - will some finely crushed flake do or frozen shrimp?

3 Kept poorly fish in the breeder before and a week it needed cleaning out - whats the best way of cleaning it without damaging the fry?

Thanks everyone in anticipation

Regards

Danios scatter eggs, they don't stick.

What fish do you have? Chances are it was cories.... If so, a nice piece of slate and plants might be good places for them to deposit eggs, seeing as how you can move them easily.

A pipeline should work as a siphon. It'll take a while, but this way you won't hurt the fry. By breeder, do you mean like a net breeder or a tank. (I believe the former... but that advice was primarily for a tank). Where are the eggs now?

I believe they take two days to hatch, regardless of the species (thatis if it's a common species, of course).

First figure out what fish laid the eggs and you can figure out which type of food to wean the fry on.

Hi

The eggs were fixed to the glass - just below the surface line, some were attached the power head out let pipe attachment extension - this I managed to remove with the eggs intact and without disrupting the water flow.

The breeder is a plastic fish breeder - I removed the inner

I did purchase 6 Bronze cories last week - they are about 1.5cm - already had 2 others at about 2 cm but would they egg lay at the surface?

Other fish I have are small rainbow fish (could not tell the name  ), one pair of Red Rainbows, the rest of the fish are bubble nesters (I think) with the exception of 3 YOYO loaches at about 4cm who do seem rather active on occasions

(Will try the cleaning technique)

Thanks

Regards

Dave

Hmm. Cories lay eggs at the bottom. I believe rainbows are egg scatterers, too, but not sure.

Yup, the sites and my prior knowledge both agree on the fact that the danios scatter eggs among plants...

I used to have a single albino cory cat in a tank with tons of guppies. Periodically, I would find eggs on the back wall of the aquarium. Now, I know it wasn't the guppies so that lead me to believe it was the cory cat.

Hi

Hope the eggs hatch tomorrow

They still look "clean"

I am waiting in anticipation

Will let you know what they are for further advice
