Hi guys i need your help, can you tell me y my 1 goldfish is bleeding from the anus, cud this be an internal problem as he appears to have a lump by his 1 gill.
Can you please tell me some treatment to try as i have had this fish along time and just been offered to put him in my friends big pond.

Any help wud be appreciated ! Thanks all

Is there actuall red bloody stuff coming out of the anus or is the anus just inflamed looking or does it merely appear bloodshot around the bum? What does his poop look like and what is the goldfishs apetitie like currently or over the last couple of weeks?
When you say he has a lump by the gill, can you describe what the lump looks like and how large it is? Is it right next to the gill or actually on it?

It appears to be blood coming from the anus but not all the time it seems to be wen he goes to the toilet ( the poop is clear with abit of red, cud be pellet because there like an orange redish colour), the lump isnt really big its just big enuf to make the scales poke up a little but it can be noticed.
Its to the back part of the gill if you see what i mean not on it. He isnt eating at the moment but he is still active.
I was wondering if it was constipation ? Apart from that he has been fine over the last couple of weeks and like i said i was moving all my goldies into a pond on the weekend so they cud have a better life. o i did treat him for abit of fin rot but that seems to be in control as the fin seems to be growing back.

Thank you Tokis-Phoenix

No the waste doesnt look like that its just clear stringy stuff with like bits of pellet init. he is normal around the stomach area its just the lump by his gill.

Wud it help if i cud supply a picture ?

Yes that would help massively if you could get some pics of the affected area's or fish in general as its hard to find pics on these sorts of conditions on the inet in general :good:

Taking a photo now

I also notice that he is the only 1 in the tank that is gasping fast not at the surface. And 1 of my fish has a streak of red in his tail is this because the fish r just to big for there tank ? and the pollution levels r just to high, i do a water change every 2 days of around 50%

Red streaks in area's of the tail are most likely septicemia, which is most commonly brought about by stressful conditions in aquariums. Water changes and an anti bacterial med like Pimafix will treat the septicemia.

How many gallons is the tank and what and how many fish do you have in it? Do you dechlorinate the water and does the tank have adequate filtration? Have you tested the water for ammonia, nitrites and nitrates?

i know i have way to many fish in my tank as it is only a 20 gal and i have 4 goldies. I know this is wrong and the pollution they produce is going to be huge but thats y im putting them in my friends pond on the weekend but i have to cure them b4 i can make the move. I always dechlorinate the water :)

I have 2 Filters running and do a 50% water change every 2 days. I have some king fisher Bateria control will that do the trick with the septicemia.

Thank you so much for your help Tokis-Phoenix :thanks:

It is way too cold now to add fish to a pond that have been in an aquarium. They just wont be prepared for the winter.

You should keep them until late spring now and try and find a couple of 30 gallon tubs to over winter them.

are they fancies or commons? that will also make a difference. fancies are notorious for doing poorly in ponds, but commons will do fine.
