i put my fish in a five gallon bucket when i empty my tank, its less stress on them any ways i put my heater from the tank in the bucket and i turned it down because i have it at 80 for the tank and that was going to be to hot, well i obviously didnt turn it down enough because i came back and i saw a few fish dead thinking they died of stress well then i took a closer look and half my fish were dead so i went running for a bucket of ice water well its not working and im going to loose all of them by the end of the night i already lost 2 more

so now i have a fishless tank and was thinking what i could i put in my 30 gallon

Oooh ooh I have a suggestion!

12x Harlequin Rasboras
12x Praecox Rainbowfish
8x Kuhli Loaches
1-2x either Dwarf Gouramis or larger species like Pearl or Moonlight Gouramis
or instead of the gouramis one male betta, or a sorority of female bettas

:good:

i havent seen any kuhli loaches around, my local fish stores are pretty much lame and dont stock any thing good AT ALL  but ill think bout getting some kuhlis when and if i do see them, i have this strange feeling your going to get me addicted to kuhlis crossfire :shifty:

Why were you emptying the tank? If you are just doing a water change you can leave the fish in the tank, only take 50% of the water during your weekly w/c! Everyone else's fish survive their w/c just fine. I would think it stresses the fish more being caught and having to do 2 transfers.

What dimensions is your 30 gallon? If it is a 30 gallon high, it would be great for angelfish.
I have a 30 gallon regular (3ft long) and wish I had a 30 gallon long (4 ft long), it would give my tetras more swimming room. If you go for Harlequins, I've seen a recording of them swimming, they are FAST swimmers, lol!

I think black phantom tetras are stunning. I am looking into trying blue ram cichlids with mine. Have you had a look at rams?

i do leave my fish in the tank when im doing w/c but i was taking out a piece of wood in my tank because it made my water a dark brown color were i couldnt see my fish or any thing else in the tank and that was after soaking it for a month

idk the dimensions but i know its a regular 30 cus they dont sell 30 high here any more, idk if i will end up with harlequins they go like candy here
i havent looked into rams, i was thinking bout getting a few cichilids but idk if they would be ok with schooling fish like black fin tetras

Some rams or aspisto's would go nice in a 30G will be fine with your dither fish to (tetra's etc..)! The tetras usually stay in the top 1/2 of the tank anyway, where as the rams and apisto's stay near the bottom usually sorting out their breeding grounds or hiding out in a cave. :good:
