Sorry to hear that you put him down . Had both of his eyes popped out of their sockets? I probably would have tried to treat him before putting him down, as in most cases, popeye responds quite well to antibiotics and the swelling is usually greatly reduced within 3-4 days. Ah well, he's in fishy heaven now, RIP.
