I just put it on and my water got blurry, I also took out the carbon is this natural?

I followed the instruction properly, I washed it first then put it flat on the filter, it doesn't say whether to take or leave the carbon on. I tried stuffing both bags but my filter seems to overflowing, I don't know whats happening. I both this stuff because my tank is going into a minicycle in which i'm detective a little bit of ammonia and nitrite, I just purchase some Discus and I wanna get the water stable ASAP, I will be doing a water change tonight or tommorow morning...

Nobody ever uses this product? I need your opinions on these guys, pleaze feel free to post :D

I've never used NitraZorb, but I've seen the packets.

Could you be more specific about "blurry", and how long it's been that way?
Also, what kind of filter do you have?

If the "blurry" is just gunk floating around, it may be as simple as the fact that you moved the filter media aorund while the filter was running (I do that all the time, it seems, and slap myself for it).

yeah i forgot to shut off the filter first. I have an Aqua Clear 300 filter BTW and when I put the pouch on the water turn kinda milky(very light brown) it's the same color when i rinse the pouch out of tap water. Anyways it's not as blurry as it was 3 hours ago but would my water turn clear eventually even without the carbon?

Sounds like maybe the pouch could have used a little more rinsing.

I wouldn't sweat it too much, your water will probably be pretty clear by morning.

I've used a nitra zorb. they need to have the carbon filter removed and they need to be throughly washed before use. The white stuff is the particles that haven't been washed out. They only work for a week and then need to be recharged using marine salt in warm water.

nitrazorb contains salt , and to revive it u need to soak it for 48hrs in slaty water....u havnt got any fish that dont tolerate slat have u?

its the salt thats turnin the water milky, i wasnt informed about turning the filter off tho, i was told to turn it up a little higher so that when the bag is hung over the filter it helps to distribute it around the tank...also u wont notice the milky water problem.

Nita zorbs are fine with scaleless fish and recharge it as per the manufacturers instructions. Mine was soak it in salty water for 3 hours. They contain salts but not salt as in the sodium chloride that you are thinking of.

marine/aquarium salt is used for charging it, is that not correct???

and on most topics about useing salt it states not to use salt of any form with scaleless fish, i.e plecs cories and some loaches....

so how can nitrasorb, witch has to be recharged by useing marine/aquarium salt, be safe with salt intollerant fish?

But doesn't instruction also says that you should rinse it everytime you have to use it?. BTW are Discus salt tolerant? I have a couple of cory's and pleco on my tank, I have use salt before with them(when I didn't know your not supposed to) but they were never harm or show i'll effects...

Because you rinse it after you've recharged it. the salt is only there to replace the ions so once it has been recharged in the salt the salt is no longer there so it can't hurt you fish.

I experienced a blurry tank once, it turned out that the bacteria went haywire and multiplied like crazy after I put too much Cycle in, have you got fish in the tank whilst the water is blurry and if so, how are they looking? When my tank went blurry it also stunk the whole house out, smelt like rotting flesh...not nice lol.
