I went to bed the other day and the water was clean and there were no problems with PH or Nitrites or Ammonia anything. I woke up to a densely cloudy tank. I have a 55gal planted tank that is around 1 month old. The PH is normal still as are all the other chemical tests. I preformed a 25% water change and changed the filter bags. To no avail, the cloudiness is still present. I went to work and came home still cloudy. I woke up this morning and it was cloudier still. I preformed a 50% water change and vacuumed the substrate and removed any plants the appear to be dying. The fish seem OK but I am sure they do not enjoy the water clarity.
Has anyone had a problem with this? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Can you post your water stats please in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
How many fish and which type are in the tank.
Its a bacterial bloom.
Get you some info.

When you say you have changed the filter bags what do you mean.
You haven't touched the sponges in the filter have you.

I changed the power filter bags nothing to do with sponges.

I have 2 Bala Sharks, 1 Neon Tetra, 3 Plattys, 4 Tiger Barbs, 1 Angel Fish, 1 Cory Cat, 4 zebra danios
Ph is 7.2-7.3
Nitrite is > 0.05ppm
Nitrate is > 20ppm
Hardness 150ppm Hard
Chlorine 0
Alkalinity 120ppm
Ammonia a little high 1 ppm
Temp 80deg F.

Sorry don't know what filter bags are.
Your tanks till cycling and you have added to many fish to soon.
I wouldn't add anymore fish till the tank cycled.
Water changes and increase aeration in the tank.

Bala sharks really need to be in groups of no less than three.
Also they need larger tanks as they grow bigger of 100 gallons.
You need to read up on the nitrogen cycle which you should find in that link I left.

Thanks Wilder for your help. I was very concerned but you have eased my mind. I havent add any fish in a few weeks and I have been doing weekly water changes. I will turn up the air compressor in my tank get some more oxygen in there and let things settle down.

The cloudy tank is normal it will clear soon as the filters mature.
Cycling tank takes it toll on fish as it weaken there immune system due to stress, also it burns there skin and gills.
Keep up with daily water changes and extra aeration good.
It soon should be cycled maybe just over a week or less.
