I have had a disaster changing the water in my tank today. My heater smashed. This was my first water change (I'm new to this, and have only had fish in the tank for one week now). I know exactly what I did wrong, and I won't make the same mistake again. But for now, I need advice on what to do.
I've wrapped the tank in tinfoil to try and keep the heat in. It's about 100 litres so I don't think it will hold the heat too well.
If by some miracle anyone reading this lives in the north of england and has a spare heater I could buy (tonight), it would be much appreciated.
When I get to a shop tomorrow I will be buying 3 heaters, each of half the wattage of the single heater that has been running in my tank. I'll use 2 of them to run the tank, and keep the third as a backup in case 1 of the other two fails.
Thanks in advance,
Stuart
