I put 1 tsp for 5G. Just checking all of you guys and how you’re doing with your cories. I have about 150 eggs right now in my 10G nursery tank. Crazy, I know but I also have 27 cories. The eggs all look good so far. Tomorrow will be Day 2 officially. I have a bare bottom right now with sponge filter on one end and air stone on the other. Each day I do a small water change and add a few drops more MB. I hope we all get some keepers out of these. :)

I've got 10 fry now of varying age. The adults are still at it, there were clusters of eggs this morning but they'd been eaten before I had chance to move them. Not sure how long I can keep adding eggs to the same breeder box with 2 week old fry in there..?

Probably not much longer. Can you get a Sterlite storage container, sponge filter and small heater? I’ll have to improvise with a storage container if too many eggs survive. I have another 20G long and then that’s it.

I'm sorry I have no idea, this is my first time too, and I've never used MB!

My black corys spawned today. I moved the eggs to my quarantine tank, which is about 10g. The last time they spawned, the eggs all got fungus, so I'm hoping we get luckier this time, with the help of methylene blue. Luck is all we got, because I have no idea what I'm doing. I collected circa 30 eggs before we went out. I have two raphael cats in that tank, so you have to be quicker than them to get eggs. If more appeared after I left to deal with the horse, only the corys and the bloody raphaels will know.

I'm a bit worried the eggs are in too much water.

Mine are in about 6” of water.

Oh yay! please please can we see pics of the adult cories? I love the black ones, want to get some when I can.
Also off topic, but what kind of horse do you have? I don't ride now (miss it) but was a horse mad kid and used to ride, so would love to see a photo of the horse too!

I doubt that it's too much water, technically my eggs were inside a net bag, inside 12.5 gallons of water, and some of those hatched. I lost a lot to fungus, but I also didn't have MB or alder cones or anything. Now I have alder cones, and MB arriving tomorrow, I'm hoping the cories will spawn again and more will make it this time.

Tip for fungus, based on my one experience - check the eggs as often as you can, 2-3 times a day if possible, 'cos the fungus forms fast, and remove any that have fungus. I couldn't believe how fast another egg could go bad. Next time I'd also try to separate the eggs a little more, at least into smaller bunches, although I know it's tough, since one egg going bad while it was attached to five or six others took out most of them.

That’s why I put them in a nursery tank with MB. Lesson learned from goldfish breeding. I’ve had a few turn white but not many. Nothing spread to another egg so far. Fingers crossed.

Hey guys, take a look at this You Tube to get an idea what your bb’s will look like if they haven’t hatched yet. :).

I am so excited! This is more fun than goldfish but much easier than cherry barb fry. :)
