I was curious so looked at the ingredient list on liquify fry food. The first ingredient is vegetable matter ( which we get from algae) The second ingredient is egg and egg deviates. So really it is just egg in a tube with other stuff to make it stable.

Will all the waste and debris go into the bare part of the tank due to the water flow circulation, taking the path of least resistance if you like and gets trapped in that area?

Just never come across that idea before, suppose its simply because I've never had to and is quite intersting theory to have something like that set with the substrate if you need to observe for such things.
Yep the waste and in fact even the dead fry will end up there it is to do with gravity and the path of least resistance.

Excellent, good little tip there I think actually.

Will remember that, hopefully I won't have to do that since I do not plan to breed anything at all but its a good fishkeeping nugget to keep in mind for the future.

Yay!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG, so exciting! I’m so jealous but thrilled for you.
Thank you!! Don't be jealous, be inspired and set up a breeding tank :D They're so tiny and cute, you need to breed some!

I still believe bare bottom is best for the first couple of weeks in order to keep the tank clean but protect the fry. Guess you just can’t teach and old dog new tricks? Egg is said to foul the water. Forgot the other reason. Gotta pull out my notebooks. Oh, the other reason is taste. Many fry won’t accept it. My notes do say it is safer for livebearers than hatched fry as their less developed than livebearer fry. Who knows. I can’t even tell you where I got the info, just in my early notes so never used egg. :)

Apparently cory fry need sand added seven days after hatching, the beneficial bacteria in the sand from the parent tank helps them, there are more losses if they're raised in a bare bottom tank.

Found another, up to 13 wrigglers, and there are seven eggs that still look good and like they might hatch :D Will check those eggs again in the morning.

I couldn't get photos of them I'm afraid :( They're so tiny and almost invisible, and most went and hid under the bits of IAL I'd put into their pot. I'll try again tomorrow when I do their water change and have better lighting than at 10pm tonight :D

I can't believe so many hatched! I know 13 out of 237 doesn't sound a lot, but it's a lot more than I'd dared hope for!

. I think it’s amazing for your first go. Great job!

Thank you so much! It was so unplanned and unprepared, lol. Credit also has to go to @NCaquatics , she saved the day! Her suggestion of using the fish net likely saved the eggs, I couldn't have done it without her help, patience and her photos! And you guys, for celebrating with me and being such awesome emotional support. It's so nice to be able to share the celebration moments as well as the tank disasters with people who understand and are just as passionate about keeping fish!

This forum has completely transformed my hobby, I'm so grateful for that.

Anyone else wanting cory babies, fall into winter is a great time to try

Its their breeding season down in south america where its spring/summer for their wild counterparts, so it's strong in their evolution still. Sometimes if it fails other times of the year, try it again during this time into winter.

few more eggs hatched, up to 16 wrigglers in the pot! One still had the egg on, but moved him over anyway.

Another egg that's still in the bag seems to be hatching, looked like a tiny bit of tail sticking out, will check on them again in a few hours. Also found a guppy fry in the bag, lol. Don't know how it got in there, must have really pushed itself in there. Hope it didn't eat any of my babies! I don't think so, since it's still pretty small too, but it's possible I suppose. Hopefully not.
