Help! My Betta Fish

Good tip, thank you. I will definitely do that next time. So far the fish is doing okay, I put it in it’s small container I bought it in while replacing 75% of the water from the tank. He does seem to be swimming like normal and seems better in the smaller space, so I have kept him in there since then. His fins have spread out more, i’m thinking he is less stressed. Maybe the filter current is too strong for him in the tank? I’ll put him back in the tank tonite and see how he reacts.

Get an API test hit and learn to test your own water. Seeing you have a fish in the tank, you will have to do 75% water changes whenever you see ammonia or nitrites in your tank. If you buy some floating plants and other plants that may help you get cycled sooner by performing a “silent cycle.” Plants adsorb ammonia.
