Dont feel bad about the advice from the LFS. They are in the buisness of selling fish & equipment so will "embelish" the truth a bit to get a sale. Just the same as any other salesmen would.

Just keep up the daily water changes & you will be fine.

Also ita a good idea start a cycle thread with your daily test results so we can all see whats going on in your fishy world, that way we may spot potential problems before they arrive.

Gegpeck, I understand what you are saying about the LFS but there is really no reason to rant about it. I am not happy about this myself and I certainly feel assertive enough to state my opinion and speak to my LFS about the issues, but this was not really what this topic was about. It was simply recommended that I choose someone more trustworthy for advice.

I really don't want this to turn into an argument about LFS and their ill-advice or discussions about peoples backbone.

LOL! Far from it mate. The LFS i use is pretty darn good so i have no worries about recieving the wrong info. What would be the point in going in and causing a scene? You won't get your money back. The best thing to do is to find a more suitable and knowledgeable LFS and go in knowing exactly what you want/need.

By being on this forum you will be constantly learning and have a wealth of knowledge at your fingertips and should be able to find an answer to anything you need to know.

I didn't want to have an argument or anything,the main thing is that you get your problem sorted (which is why posted it on the forum).I just commented what i would do if it were me,i wasn't saying you weren't capable of speaking out or anything ( i wasn't attacking you or your nature),its just some people seem to be to frightened to say anything or make a fuss!,............and to me thats wrong.Greg

No problem Greg, i wasn't having a go either. I am quite capable of saying something if i think it is wrong, and have done on several occasions. The most important thing is that we get GreenA sorted out with the correct information so she doesn't fall foul of a poor lfs again.
