i went to my lfs to pick up some fish for my cycled tank and i got some angels and some neons just to start out.......one of the angels is fine, he swims around and plays in the bubble curtain in the back, the other one just floats around and when it finds its way to the bubble curtain he floats up, hits the surface, floats over and hits the front of the tank.then sinks down to the bottom and does it all over again...right now he's just laying on the bottom motionless..........i just got them today and the other one is perfectly fine.....i did some research and i think its swimbladder. What types of medication/treatments can i do to help him???thanks for all the help........ :look:

Yeah from my experience at least one out of 3 angels i buy will die. I think that he will just pass away now. Probably he wasn't strong enough to take to new water conditions. Is he kinda doing somersalts? Hopefully you can exchange him.... Wait i thought an angel will eat a neon?lol

what the u put angel with neon lol ur neon will become their lunch if you dont move them away. Just go to ur LFS and ask them for medicine for swimbladder. I dont know where u live the brand I use here in canada might be something else on ur country best is ask ur LFS ppl.

Need to no water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, what size tank is it, to be honest it does sound like swim bladder, if it has progressed to far there is no cure, try some shelled peas and daphnia, also the above reply was correct noen tetra's were not the best choice to go with angels, as they hunt them in the wild.

well the angel died a few hours ago, the other one is doing fine now....So far I haven't had any problems with the angel/neon combo...........i'll go exchange him tomorrow seeing how i know the owner............thanks for the help guys.......

Sorry for your loss,R.I.P.

That sounds like a very high mortality rate to me. -_- Surely it shouldn't be that bad?
Hugs,
P.

huh, in my expeirances, i've had neons and angels together, and yet they do not eat them. but that may not be for many reasons.

1: almost all of the neons are 1 1/2 long
2: angels are still pretty much babies
3: i'm moving angels into 100 gallon when i get it.

no one ever said it would happen over night....they obviously aren't going to eat them when they are tiny...but it is likely to happen at some point in the angels life..
