HELP ME PLEASE........

I think it would take a while even if you stop feeding them, is he eating as they usually stop eating when they are really bad.

Deffinately not humane to starve him - that would just be a slow and painful death. However, it might be beneficial to the fish if you feed him something like shelled peas for a couple of days to help clear out his system. I think your only hope is to continue treatment and keep water quality excellent. Some salt might be good for him but anti-internal bacteria meds and antibiotics like you are using now are your best hope. If he's still eating, it can't be quite that bad. Opalines are fighters... good luck.

If he is guaranteed to die if you take no action I have heard that it is possible to stick a hypodermic needle in the fish and suck the fluid out.

Might be worth a try if it's your last hope. I have absolutely NO IDEA if this is right but I have heard of it being done before.

found this. it may or may not be too late to try. good luck.
The fish was put into a hospital tank with its own filtration and NO SALT. The temperature of the water was increased from 78oF to 86oF in 1 day, and 1/8 teaspoon of epsom salts per 5 gallons added. The fish was fed romet B antibiotic food for a month. When the blisters erupted after about 5 days in isolation, I used a single treatment with oxolinic acid. 3 days later, a complete water change was done to remove all the oxolinic as it then becomes toxic for the fish.

This may sound TOTALY STUPID but i gave a fantail to my father-in-law once (couldn't bare to watch him die, had him too long) with exactly the same symptoms as yours. The fish was dying with no hope, so my father-in-law tried as one last resort of placing a disolvable asprin in his bowl of water, within 24 hours the fish showed improvement, within 48 hours he was eating again and made a full recovery.

We call him Dr Dolittle, the fish is still alive now !!

As i said sounds TOTALY STUPID, but it worked !!

NOT saying you should try this or anything though as i am no expert like the rest of these guys, but you never know.

If there is nothing to lose why not.

Hmmmmm,

Thanks for the other opinions!!

I must say, this is a tricky situation. I mean, sucking out fluid or using apirin in the tank COULD save his life, but if he is for some miracle going to survive couldn't those things KILL HIM too!!??

:X :dunno:
