Help Me Id Please :)

I think its only fair if we let Jenste decide which one she thinks it is.
That's absurd. lol. The fish is what it is - not what anyone wants to think it is. If you folks do not understand the term, "highly variable," then there's no place to go from here. Spots, squigglies or whatever - if you don't know where this fish was collected, you can never know, without DNA sequencing, exactly what it is. That's just the reality in ID'ing Corys.

I am by no means an expert, but I'm sure there are two different fish in the photo. One is C102 and the other is a C. trilineatus "type." Could be C. julii, although very doubtful - but we'll never know for sure. - Frank

I agree with Coryologist. You are lucky to have them because C 102s are not that commonly found. It's another example of a fish called julii by the lfs and seldom properly identified.

Jenste, I can't see that wound too clearly. If it is a cut, it might heal by just keeping it in very clean water. Take care that fungus does not develop on it. If it's internal, the fish does not have very good prospects. It would most likely be a bacterial infection of some sort so look for a medication to treat that.

Keep them out of any tank with frogs. ;)

it is a very odd "wound" - - at times it is barely visible and at other times it is that dull red...seems to be just under the skin - I can't get close enough to tell (broke my glasses, am using my old pair until I can get to the eye doc this week for a repair/replacement)

will try and get a nice close look at it tomorrow

Oh and no worries  None of my monstrous frogs will get near the little darlings! they are having fun exploring a ten gallon with sand

A betta is with them but has always been kept with cories and is no threat - seems to enjoy the company infact!

I agree with Frank cause he ID'S fish like its no bodyies business, but ether way nice beautiful fish, I hope the wounds heal.

Good luck with the wound.

I have a few of these guys and I had to euthanise one today, still upset now, but it had a similar wound, slightly higher up. To begin with, it was quiet, and then this afternoon I noticed it has lost its colour and was listing to one side, then suddenly could not right itself...... Enough was enough and I had to step in.

I have no idea what caused the wound, but found a dragonfly larvae nearby very shortly afterwards...... Who knows? All the others are fine.

Again, I hope the wound clears up and all is well :good:

Here are two of my guys:

Shame you had to euthanize you cory.

After looking at the last picture, they are Corydoras Trilineatus. How comes the first few pics look different from your recent one?

LMAO!

I hope the OP's Cory is ok with its wound. I've found that when mine have had a wound like this they go downhill quickly.

Good luck!

(Its nice to know what mine actually are tho!)

Mine were sold as Julii's...... Didn't believe them TBH, but had an idea of what they were and it didn't put me off. Lovely little critters

coryologist- do you remember ages ago when i was trying to ID my corys? well the OP's fish look exactly the same as mine, so i think that mine may be c102 as well. :good:

Honestly, I can't remember what I ate for dinner last night. I was a hippie in the late '60's and early '70's. :) - Frank

Well, atleast you're Frank about it....

sorry, couldn't resist.
