Not on subject...sorry, but what is the stunning fish in your avatar, Idlefingers?

No probs.. It's a Cichlasoma Salvini (Salvin's Cichlid).

I have been running a FX5 for about 6 months now, and have had no probs, would mimic the thoughts that is powerful, and the massive amount of sponges and filter media means it justs keeps going and going, I have bought replacement sponges, but the originals have not got to a state where they need replacing yet. The purge outlet at the very bottom of the filter is handy, it means you can empty the gunk in the bottom of the filter frequently without having to take the filter out of the system. It is very quiet, the auto air purge is handy, and for £130.00 you can't go wrong and they all come with three years warranty.

Though I know eheim will come out on top!!!

Tetratec, fabulous build quality, everything included. Wish I'd got mine months ago.

I'll vouch for that. Got my EX700 a month ago. Chucked out the carbon bag, threw in the old media, connected it up, primed it and was running within 15 minutes of opening the box.

Excellent value (zooplus.co.uk) and comes with all the needed attachments and media. What more can you ask for.

And it looks really good aesthetically as well, very modern and not a single piece of dodgy green acrylic anywhere.
