I am (over)due to upgrade my work mobile phone..... last year I had a choice of 3 pages of phones, but thank goodness, I'm reduced to either Nokia or Blackberry this year.....

In the Nokia range, I can choose the E5, E7, E72, N8, or N97...... In Blackberry, I am offered: 8520, 9300, 9520 Storm, 700 Onyx, or 9800 Torch....

Considering that it has to be a reasonably user friendly phone,..... which would you recommend and why??

I have a Blackberry 9300, easy to use and a great device, it can push any notifications straight to your messages inbox compiling everything neatly, the 3G is fast and the Blackberry data service is good too if you choose to use it.

Im not a blackberry fan, I'm more of a Android :) but i like the nokia n97

I use the BB 9700. I find the Bold better than the rest (curve's quite gd as well). The torch hangs like crazy so I suggest staying away from that. Been using mine for over a year and no problems yet :hyper: even after dropping it countless number of times hehe.

Ha! Ha!..... so many votes...... so many choices!?..... This is not inconclusive..... let's extend the voting & see if I can get a priority vote here.... I have until Thursday to decide..... Help out plse!!!!

bit of a bummer you cant go android. thats where the party's at. i dont like the midget finger buttons on BB's.

 And the plot thickens..... six votes...... six choices???? seems like they are all compattable..... no one really standing out????.....

BB all the way. I've had the curve, bold, storm and now the torch. Don't want any other brand of phone. I find them a whole lot easier to use than most phones. The torch especially I like as you can use touch screen or buttons. I stick to my buttons to be honest but I think I'd be lost without my blackberry messenger.

Blackberry forever! :good: Get that and you won't regret! Ahaha. :fun:

can you not push for a mid range android phone ludwig?

i didn't vote because i'm not familiar with the nokia phones.. i would NEVER choose any phone made by motorola (blackberry). i had great experiences with nokia phones years ago, but haven't had one in awhile. but i would choose anything by nokia in a heartbeat over any phone made by motorola.

the guys at work all agree the company cheaped out and took their laptops back and gave them blackberries instead. to this day i've never heard a single one of those guys say anything good about them. some have had to have their blackberries replaced up to 4 times in a year for manufacturers defects.

my personal experience with motorola was just a phone.. but the keys would just randomly quit working.. only button that worked was the power button, had that phone replaced 3 times the first year, and 3 times in less than 2 months the second year before i threatened to take my business elsewhere if they didn't give me a different phone.

You cannot really compare a phone to a laptop. If you do you will have problems.
Even iphone users I know agree.
The issue with phones freezing or going wrong is that there's so much stuff inside it for it to go wrong. Look at the Nokias when they first come out, I think my mother still to this day has a 3310 even though I've bought her better phones. She's had this over 10years I think. The reason being is that it was only for calls, texts and to play snake.
I get a new BB every few months as I'm on a business contract, any issues and a replacement is sent by courier within 24 hours.
If I get a scratch on it I get a new one.

First of all Blackberry is nothing to do with Motorola, the two companies are at war with each other over patent infringement. Blackberry's are built by Research in Motion. Most of the problems I've seen with Blackberry's are due to user error.

I have a BB Pearl 3G since smashing the screen on my desire. Both are good phones, but the Desire was very good indeed. If Android were a bit better supported like apple are they would be a world beater hands down!
