My tank is 60l

My current filter is a fluval 2+ and im considering upgrading to an external filter for better circulation, more swimming space in the tank and because my fluval is acting weird.

The two filters ive looked at are

Eheim Ecco 2232

http://www.aquaessentials.co.uk/index.php?...roducts_id=1765

and

Tetratec EX600

http://www.charterhouse-aquatics.co.uk/cat...ter-p-1413.html

It doesnt have to be either of those, thats just what i found when searching around. But im not very good with externals so advice on choosing one would be greatly appreciated.

Ebay item number 320300301861

or and Ehiem classic 2213 would be the best in your budget

Ohh, after doing research i went for the tetratec and ill see how that is.

One question about the media in it,

3) TetraTec BB Bio Filter Balls are a specific biological media, providing an excellent environment for friendly bacteria to break down ammonia into harmless nitrate. Because they are not too porous they allow a good flow of water through them, which ensures that all the bacteria receive a supply of oxygen and nutrients. This keeps them working effectively, and avoids ‘dead areas’. Clean in aquarium water only, as and when necessary.

Thats not like the zeolite cartridges in stingrays and stuff is it?

Nope all it means is their is maximum surface area for bacteria to colonise and do its job on the water. Like a powder such as ground salt in excess water will dissolve quicker then adding a 1kg lump of salt as their is more surface area to react with.

Tetratec is a good brand as well just the Eheim classics are no frills workhorses and renowned for reliability.
