I have a minor breakout of ICH in my fry tank (long story-my fault) It isn't very bad right now, only about 1-2% of fry are affected, but I want to stop it before it spreads. Previously, I've had alot of success in curing ICH by raising the temperture to 86F and adding aquarium salt. But, can I do this to the fry? Will the temperature be too high? Or, can I raise it very slowly so they get used to it? :dunno: Any advice is greatly appreciated. TIA

Sorry, I can't help but I'd love to see you helped...

I hope by responding someone sees this.

I'm pretty sure that heating it to 84 degrees would be OK as that is normal tepurature in a betta biotope. If I were you I'd heat it all the way up to 86 and put some salt in it. I've never had fry (I hope to breed my betta in the summer though) so I really don't know much but that's my 2 cents. :dunno:

I'd raise it, but very, very slowly, maybe a degree or two at a time. Be gentle with the salt.

I've been raising the temp 1 degree every 12 hours. BTW thanks for the info about the temp in the betta biotype, that's what I really needed to know. :D I've added a little salt, but only 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons US. The temp is now at 86F and the fry aren't showing any signs of distress. I've lost 5 fry over the past 2-3 days, don't know if this is bad or not. -_- How long should I leave the temp at 86F to kill the ICH? :dunno:Also, I'm not using meds, they're too strong. Thanks for the all the help so far :D
