Help identifying this fishy

Hi everyone,

I've come across these little fellas in my LFS - it said Golden Rams on the tank as I flashed passed... I was in a rush and didn't have time to ask about them.... They remind me of a cichlid type shape, so I thought I'd ask in this part of the forum... can anyone tell me what they are exactly, how big they grow, and if they would be OK in a community tank or not?

can anyone tell me more about Blue Rams too? Are they a cichlid? How big they grow?... etc...

Yeah, you are right. The top fish Is a gold ram, and the one underneath is a german blue ram, they are a dwarf cichlid. I have 4 in a community tank at the moment, two gold and two blues. They get along great with all the other fish, they argue abit between themselves but thats about it. I think the fish reaches a max size of 6cm. They are great little fish and something different to the usual community fish!

You can use google to find out more info on them pretty easily, they are both the same species just colour morphs I think.

If it wasn't so far for me to travel from Leeds to East Grinstead in Sussex, I would consider buying some for pickup.... However - since my car is out of action at the moment, I wouldn't consider taking them on a stressful long journey on a train or such!

Thank-you for the offer though.... I occasionally go down to London on business, so maybe when my car is up and running again (which could be some time - long story ) I could consider pickup...

I think I'll be off down my LFS again tomorrow.... He must think I live there!
