I caught this fish today, likes to just sink to the bottom and stay there.

looks like some kind of goby... not sure what exactly it is... What kind of creek did you catch it in? and where abouts?!

i googled under perciformes (perch fish) because of its double spiked dorsal fin and the nearest match i could fine was a fish with the exotic name of mud darter (Etheostoma asprigene)

o, i caught this in bull run creek centreville, Virginia. Is it like special or something

If you have taken it from a cool oxygen rich 'creek', chances are it wont do well in your aquarium.
No idea what it is though, because I don't know anything about your native fish really, but it does remind me of the bullhead (Cottus Gobio) that we get over here, and it probably has similar requirements if the habitats are similar.

It is possibly in the same genus of the bullhead.

What are you going to feed it anyway? And remember to match the temperature to the stream, and put a few powerheads in there for it :good: .

Cool looking fish btw :).

Boo-yeah, we have a match - what you have is a fantail darter Etheostoma flabellare - so thgnu was very close lol

Information I have gathered so far is that it needs a temperature of 4 degrees C - 18 degrees C, will reach 8.4cm and can live for 4 years.

Fantails make an interesting addition to a freshwater aquarium. As Jordan and Evermann were quoted as saying at the turn of the century, "...darter of darters - hardiest, wisest, and wariest of them all and the one most expert in catching other creatures..."
