Help I Think We Have Fish Eggs

Ive just noticed in my tank tonight there are about 10-15 transparent round egg looking things. Ive had a look on the web and it seems they are eggs? They are mostly about 0.5cm but one is slightly larger. In our tank we have 11 neon tetras, 2 dwarf guerami's (1 male and 1 female), 1 female platy, 2 bristlenose, 2 ciclids and 5 cory doras, 2 albino and 3 speckled. The fish seem to feed and not really bother with the 'eggs' but we have no clue what we need to do from here?

Hi Minnnt! Great if its the cories, you told us to get them for our tank and you were right, characters, I love them! However, what on earth do I do now, will the other fish eat them? Do we leave them to their own devices?

You will probably find that they will be gone by the morning. If they're not then unless you have loads of cover for any young that do manage to hatch then they will get eaten.

The best way to breed them would be to remove the parents to a seperate tank, let them spawn them return them to the main tank.

Cories are great. I am still wanting a massive group of Sterbai's... Problem is that something else usually comes up to stop me getting them. lol.

Problem is we havent a clue who the parents are? We dont have a huge amount of cover in the tank, a large mountain thing with holes in it so it creates a cave and some plastic plants! Is it worth putting some more of the plastic plants we have as spare back in the morning if the eggs are still there and see what happens, or is it possible to get the babies out of the tank instead?

Sterbais from what I have seen are very beautiful fish!

Once the eggs have hardened you can scrape them off and move them to an empty tank. You will need some kind of flow across them to stop them from growing fungus on them.

If you did try to purposely breed them then you would have to put all the cories in the spare tank.

The eggs already seem to roll freely around the floor when the other fish swim past or feed around them,so would be easy (ish) to get, would you say our best bet is if they are still there in the morning, use our smaller tank and filter with some of this tanks water, and move the eggs into that tank? Do they hatch quite quickly and if so what would we feed them? Thanks for your help, yet again I will let you know what happens in the morning!

PS we wouldnt want to breed them but as its happened like this we would do our best for the eggs to survive if possible..

Are you sure they're eggs? Cories usually spawn on the glass or on broad leaved plants. They wouldn't be rolling around on the floor.

Baby Brine Shrimp would be fine to feed them. You can buy it in frozen blister packs from the LFS.

I cant see what else they would be, we did look at pictures and they do resemble eggs! Maybe they are neon tetra eggs? I will put them in a different tank tomorrow if they are still there and feel very silly if nothing happens lol! Will keep you posted, in the meantime if you think of anything else pls let me know

They are keyhole ones, placid. The eggs or whatever they are are all still there so we will attempt to get them out this morning, we only have an empty tank with filter to put them in, no stones etc, hopefully that will be ok??

You could try a home made egg tumbler. Google the term and you will get tons of hits on making one.
You will need an air-stone to do it though.
If the eggs just sit they will foul quickly.

if you look in the cory section of the forum there's loads of info and pictures of cory eggs, cory fry and what to do with them. If they are cory eggs I wish you luck. I've had a few eggs that have hatched but the fry never survive beyond about a week.

Thanks for your help and advice everyone, I dont think they were eggs although I have no idea what they were! I guess it will remain a mystery!!
