Help! I Think My Betta Is Choking On His Food!

I just fed one of my bettas and he seemed detrmined to eat the pellet even though he couldn't fit it into his mouth (didn't know he couldn't until I put it in their) now he seems to be breathing faster. Is e chokeing on the foodm if so will he un choke himself or what?

From what i've heard pea is a laxative, but if the food is lodged in his throat i dont have a clue

It was a pellet from wardly. But never mind his breathing has returned to normal. I guess since it was so big that it got lodged in his throat and he was able to get it down.

He might not be able to digest it properly, so add some squashed pea (deshelled) in bitesize pieces and this will help him go to the toilet .
