Hi,
Okay first of all I'll give you a bit of background.
I used to have in my 120ltr tank, 2 platy's and 1 female betta. And they all got on fine.
I have since moved to cichlids, so the platy's and the betta were moved to a small hexafun tank over 1 week ago.
I noticed the betta had started nipping their fins since moving them to the smaller tank, so the platy's have been adopted, and now the betta is on her own.
However, I woke up this morning and there's a BIG collection of spit on the surface of the water. I've google'd this, and it would appear its a bubble nest.
But....the fish isn't pregnant, or certainly doesn't look it.
According to some websites, the male is the one that's meant to build the bubble nest...but there is no male.
Can anyone explain to me why she has done this? Was she just bored? Even if she was pregnant, she can't have babies without the male "squeezing" them out of her right?
