Relax. You are in the right place. We want to help you. But in order to help you, we need certain information about the tank, as much as you can provide.

First, please turn off your CAPS LOCK. Then answer Eddie's questions as best you can. Only then can we give you advice on how to keep the fish from dying. I've added a few clarifying notes to help out...

1. Water parameters. (ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, PH, temp', Hardness etc)
If you don't have a test kit for ammonia and nitrite, you need to go buy one. Without one, it is very hard to know what is happening to the tank.

2. A full description of the fishes symptoms.
What are the fish doing? Are they at the surface gasping for air? Are they lurking?

3. How often you do water changes and how much?

4. Any chemicals and treatments you add to the water.

5. What tank mates are in the tank.
I understand if you don't know exactly what fish are there, but try to describe them as best you can, with quantities next to each type.

6. Tank size.

7. Finally Have you recently added any new fish?

It's not just that it's considered shouting, it's also bl**dy hard to read, and personally I tend to give up trying to read the message.

But I do, it seems, owe you an apology for thinking you were someone that you're not (if that makes sense?).

Cheers

no test kit barely any fish left the ones that are are floundering all these years with a tank and now i feel so helplessthey act like there starving for air i think it was the new fish how do i combat ichor should i just bring a h20 sample to the local pet store where i got the fish from that i think killed all my fish

My personal opinion would be to get the water tested as treating for something incorrect could be worse than not treating at all. But I'm sure others with more experience will offer differing views...

I can try. Your tank size sounds fine - the fact that it has been up and running for so long is actually in your favor. Sounds like you don't change water often... did you treat the water you added, maybe you shocked them that way.

I'm also new to forums, have been reading this one top to bottom though for a month, lots of great help. ModernHamlet is pretty good help I'll check first page and find out who else has been responding.

Eddie W and Ryan are also excellent at answering questions. Give these guys a chance, If you guys can exchange enough information - you may just get the answer you seek. SO.... How many fish left, what are they doing, what kinds (matters cause some can't tollerate some meds), what is your water chemistry (if you are taking a water sample in then post your findings) etc? You're in pretty good hands!

It's ok, they are a forgiving lot. Looks like ade is still with you. Can you try to answer some of those questions and see what he can tell you?

HMFE,

Now we've sorted out the millions of ranting posts and caps, I for one am not frustrated. But it does annoy me somewhat when folks ask for help, don't give people time to reply, and then rant at the lack of help received when they don't answer questions asked by the people trying to help. Nothing to do with how well you can use a PC.

I would definitely sugegst getting your water tested though - although I would also recommend you buy a kit and do it yourself, that way you can be sure of the results and not have your LFS either selling you incorrect fish or incorrect chemicals/meds. Unless you trust your LFS?

What I'm trying to say (in my rather cack handed way!) is unless the LFS are decent ones (as all too few actually are), they are likely to blame your water quality even if there isn't a problem with it - as it then relieves them of any blame for supplying you with dodgy fish.
