There is something wrong with my green sword tail.....first i couldn't find it....then i looked around and found it in the middle of one of those artifical plants......with its face to the middle downward........it then started flipping around almost like it was stuck....then...it came up half way out of the plant and now its face down again....what is wrong with it.....help please!!!

First off please post test results in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph, what size tank and how many fish and what type, is there any sign of illness on the fish, does he look bloated.

there are 4 other fish.. in 10 gallon tank.....the fish got out of the plant n is now near the bottom being a rock thing. its not its self

I suggest you do an immediate water change with having no test results, and add some salt if you have no scaless fish.

i did a water change...its moved....before it was in the middle of the tank doing flips and such....now its like face down in the stones and moving and stuff!!!

If he was doing flips, sorry that dosn't sound good, just keep an eye on him.

When did you last have your water tested, if you haven't test kits take a sample of tank water to the lfs, and tell them to write the results down,is it a new fish, is their any fungus on the fish, spots, split or raggy fins, is the fish bloated.

I haven't tested it in a while....it isn't a new fish...ive had it since August...it doesn't seem bloated....it looks pretty normal...maybe just a bit darker....the fins look slightly jagged i suppose...but it was thrashing alot when it was inside the plant....

my test -- nitrate- between 20-40 safe range
nitrite- o
hardness-soft
alkalinity- 0
ph neutral

o geez....it seems to have moved again...

How much water have you changed, I would say it probably water quality, if the fins are raggy the salt should help, be prepared to lose the fish, as he sounds in a bad way.

Sorry are them test that have been taken now, if so it's not water quality, and that looks ok to me maybe a few daily water changes to get nitrates down.

its weird its like swimming around doing twists n stuff.....on the top it looks kind of dark....this is just weird..... it does the spiraling n then will stop with its nose down...

probably 1/3 of the water i changed

how long would it take for the salt to kick in....and how much of it would i use

One tablesppon to 5 gallons, how are the other fish, the salt won't save the fish, as the fish is dieing.

The other fish seem pretty happy.....the way they usually are I suppose......This poor fish... its soo sad...one of the tetras seems to be sticking by its side....will the salt have any effect on the other fish?

Mine did that a guppy once propped it up, what fish do you keep, salt wont harm the fish it helps, it's only bad on scaless fish, This is my opion but I would put the fish down as it's suffering.
