Hey I think my platy is about to give birth I am trying to catch her right b4 she give birth I am going to put her in a breeding tank. She has a white string comeing out right now...Is she getting ready to drop

lol Okay thanks. I am just worried that I am not going to get her in time go to into the breeder trap. I know for a fact that shes prego b/c shes getting bigger and they been just chasing her around all the time.



This is her how much longer do u think she has??

I dont think you'l find alot of people that recommend putting fish into a breeding trapp. It can stress the fish and in some cases even cause birthing problems.
I would advise you to make sure you have plenty of cover in your tank and let her drop there.

I concur with previous post, if you can get a smaller tank as a breeding tank, it will be beneficial to your Fish.
I would say she is due soon, however Im no expert, but if you can move her, you will wake up one morning with new tank mates -
Give them lots of hiding places ie Floating plants and ground cover furniture. Caves rocks etc, and again some plants (real or Plastic will be fine for this) Some will be eaten but you get some babies surviving.

I know but I don't have anywhere else to put her. I really want to keep these fry. I hate her being in there and the other males are beating the glass down to get to her. But As soon as the fry are born I am going to but some java moss in there. I just don't want her in there for to long. So I kinda stuck that why I was asking a questions

That female is at least 2 weeks to her next drop. We will be able to tell better about 10 days from now.
