Help! Guppy Dying!

I have no secondary tank I can use for longer than 1 hour, which is to say it is only suitable for a betta at best. Is it okay to use the epsom salt with the others in a tank? I know I should have a second tank, but money issues.

 
TBH it's a betta... You can use a coffee pot or even a cup/bowl. I had my betta in a mason jar for 2 weeks when I tried breeding bettas.

So how long should I leave the guppy in the tank? Or should I add the salt to the normal tank?

Bad news. The guppy has unfortunately died. Thanks for all the advice, though, I will now be prepared in case others in the tank start to have problems.
