i made a post probably a month or so ago, about how i was worried my betta's tail was turning a very light brown just at the edges. no one called anything negative about it, so i gave it a rest.

lately it's gotten worst. it's much thinner, and the fin that starts from his stomach was all curly and frayed. i changed his water today and part of it fell off. i've attatched a photo.

other than this, my fish is acting the same as always: very energetic, he eats well, no lethargy at all. i change the water every couple of days. i don't know the stats because i don't have anything to measure them with. frankly, i don't think it's the matter.

any home remedies for this? i feel all bad now!

Hi there! I am no expert but I have a suggestion...

Perhaps it is being snagged on something and is constantly being irritate? That's why it is not healing... I also put aquarium salt in the tank when my fish are looking a little sick and then feed some live food to boost their immune system.

Sorry this is probably all stuff you've heard before, hope the little guy gets better.

Any chance you could get a better picture? Part fell off with the water change? Bettas will eat their own tail or tail bite if stressed if he seems fine in every other way he may have been munching his own tail! Black tail edging indicated fin rot but its hard to say from that photo.
He's eating well?
If you change the water does that mean you dont have a filter? if not try doing larger water changes, keeping the water clean is key in these situations
Water stats would be helpful just as a precaution
