Sounds has though you're nearly there with the cycle,but keep doing the w/c to keep that ammonia down,so has your tap reading of 2.5 sorted itself out now? has your reading is now 0.2ppm?

I wouldn't add any more fish until your ammonia is stable at zero,the filter can be classed has cycled when you get zero ammonia and nitrite for minimum 7 days running without a w/c,then can think about adding new fish.

I haven't tested the tap water since last but i'll do another test tonight. My ammonia was 0.2ppm today (estimated it lol, halfway between 0 and 0.25). Just want it to hurry up would love to add some hatchetfish!
