help filter malfunction

I just did a water change turned the filter back on and all the water is coming out of the reservoir on the side where the tube is. The flow after the filter is exceptionally low. I checked the tube to see if maybe something is stuck but there is not, the filter is throwing debris back into the aquarium, there is debris everywhere, any ideas or should I go buy a new filter asap!!

thanks anywy, I just bought a new one until I can troubleshoot the old one hopefully I can return it if I can fix this one, I lost the directions to the old one so this new one has a troubleshoooting guide in the directions, thanks though
