Dusk, my sunburst platy, has not eaten in 24 hours. He was not active yesterday, but swimming around. Noticed a bit of fungus on him. Treated with MelaFix. He was okay this morning. The fungus was gone. Left for 2 hours to get my taxes done and we come home to find him floating around his tank like he is dead. I take him out with a cup and some tank water. I notice that his gills are moving. So, I put some betta revive (http://reviews.petco.com/3554/102424/hikari-hikari-betta-revive-health-aid-reviews/reviews.htm) in the cup. He starts swimming around.

So, I take my betta out of the 5 gallon tank they share (he's developed ick). I put him in a 1 gallon tank with a small heater and am currently treating him for ick.

I took everything out of the 5 gallon tank. Did a 75 percent water change. Put some betta revive in there, 1 tablespoon of aquarium salt and some melafix in there. I then put my breeder's net in there, attach it to the wall and put Dusk in there. He's currently on his side, but he is breathing. He's been laying on his side for a while. Gets up to swim for a few seconds and then lays back down on his side. This is a new tank. Rinsed everything thoroughly before I put the fish in there.

Before I moved him to the 5 gallon tank, he was in a 10 gallon tank with another platy who was harassing him. Dusk does have a ripped fin.

What else can I do? What's wrong with him? :-(

Since I only had him and my betta in there and I the betta out, I am not too worried. After I get done with the chiro in a half hour, I am going to use a very diluted vinegar water solution on everything just to be on the safe side. Then I'm going to rinse the heck out of everything. Probably hot water. It's a new tank. Water quality should have not been an issue, especially with daily water changes. Only had the tank for a few days.

I think I just did not take Dusk out of the 10 gallon tank in time. The damage Sunrise, my other platy, did was just too much for Dusk to recover from.

I just have to decide if I should keep Flash in the 1 gallon tank, which he does not like, for his ick treatment or if I should move him to the 5 gallon tank....
